if I melt chocolate chips, can I just dunk the cake balls in the melted choclate to coat it?

is that enough? will it harden properly?

If not, can you give me a very easy glaze recipe for cake balls? (pareve, not major ingredients that I dont have at home. just important that the choclate hardens)

can be both brown and white chocolate recipes

The chocolate chips should work

Or you can use bars of colorful (or reg and/or white) chocolate
