What's a good present to get for a 9 year old boy that's less than $40?

My 9 year old son still loves lego. He is also into building models. But not every 9 year old is into that sort of thing. Is he into sports? Does he like to play board games? Does he have an electronic device - because my 9 year old nephew has a DS and he would love a new game (we dont let our son have electronic devices).

Perplexis.
Amazing Facts and Feat Book. (My son loves them...they're beautiful full color hard cover books. Guineas book of world record type but also includes Jewish things. Lots of boys love facts!) It's about $40.

Thanks for the suggestions.
He is into building models. He is not into sports, does not have an electronic device.
Would a Judaica store have that Amazing Facts and Feats book?
What are some other building toys? The lego one is an idea.
Thank you!
