I don't remember what we did growing up. It was probably different all the time. My dh grew up with a milichig kiddush and then a little later, fleishig. We have milichig during the day because I like that we're milichig the whole day Very Happy .

We eat dairy. You need to be careful eating certain cheese before meat or you are supposed to wait the full waiting time between like you do between meat and dairy.

If we are home, dairy kiddush meat meal. If we go out whatever they serve.

Personally, I have a small apartment kitchen and I get kind of anxious about having both meat and dairy dishes to deal with over yomtov. So its easier for me to pick one and DH would not appreciate six milchig meals.

we have our dairy meal at night. my husband needs coffee during the meal so he can stay up. we only have one dairy meal because my husband doesnt really like it, and there are two people in our family (myself and a child) who are lactose intolerant so meat is just easier....

meat at night and dairy at day. My parents did a milk kiddush (cheescakes etc) followed by a meat meal.

truthfully night is so late here we could easily have a milk lunch, 6 hours later have a meat meal, go to shul, and come back and make kiddush and have a pareve dessert.

First night:dairy.

First day: meat

Second night: meat

Second day: dairy.

If it were up to me, it would all be dairy, but since my husband likes meat, and I like dairy, we compromise.

Often, on the first day, I might have something dairy in the morning. On the second day, my husband will have a little meat after the dairy meal if he wants. Everything is available at appropriate times for anybody.

We eat a dairy meal first, right after coming home from services, then wait a couple of hours and have a meat meal. That is on the first day. On the second day of yomtov, we have only a meat meal.
