Pekalach at hachnosas Sefer Torah- house or shul?

Or a combo of both? I can't decide where to give them out. I can't carry them as we walk from the house where the writing happens to the shul ( for the dancing) because they're too bulky, so I need to put the boxes in one place or the other. We have three boxes.

I'd say Shul. I wouldn't want the balagan too clos to the open Sefer Torah.
If it's late at night the kids may not stay around for the end though.

Thanks. I'm nervous, though, that the kids will be hanging around outside waiting to walk and would need something to keep them occupied.

What I have usually seen is that it is given out outside of the house while the kids are getting ready to march/parade to shul in front of the torah. The kids don't really go inside where the Torah is being finished. They stay outside until it's time to go. So while they wait they get a pekel to keep busy with.
