I tried to make profiteroles and they flopped. I already made the custard and hot chocolate sauce, what can I serve them with?

With brownies or in a trifle or Individual trifles with chocolate cake and berries. Or put in a graham cracker crust with berries or bananas on top.

Oh boy, I feel your pain.
Off the top of my procrastinating head (what, I should pack/cook for yontif now??):
spread on baked flaky dough a la Napoleon style? Layer custard between dipped lady fingers/tea biscuits like a tiramisu but compress the layers so that the cakes soften and almost meld into custard, then serve with the sauce? Layer in a trifle bowl with cake, whipped cream, strawberries or other kosher for you fruit and top with the sauce?
