I am using a magazine to comtroll my mouse
the arrow on my screen has a mind of its own and show up anywhere on my screen.

Oh, that is SO annoying!!!! It's happened to us lots of times!!!! You could try taking out the little ball and wiping it off, and maybe blow on the place where it was to make sure there's no dust....But it's probably time for a new mouse. I just bought an optical mouse (it was not expensive) so there's no ball to get moody. I love it - but I haven't had it very long yet, so I don't know if it'll have problems eventually.

I was admiring both your sense of humor and your apparently lightning-fast reflexes, thinking you meant you had clubbed a rodent to death with a rolled-up periodical. Many of us use this vermin control measure to deal with flies and other insects, but this was the first I've heard of its being effective against 4-footed pests.
