The Paramus park zoo is great for little kids.
You can picnic in the park or, if you want, stop in Teaneck for a meal afterwards.

If you go up the Palisades you can stop in the Palisades Mall - Billy Beez, laser tag, indoor ropes course, carousel, Ferris wheel, ice skating, etc.

Monroe Park is beautiful. They have some unique things. My kids loved it. I think its called Ruach Hachaim Park.
