Out of curiosity what do u think is normal for a girl that works in a small office who has alot of responsability and works there for about year and half ?what is a normal salary? I would mention she really gives it her all and treats the business as if its her own ! (No degree)

That's $38000 a year. That's not bad at all for no degree.

It really depends how much experience she has, how much responsibility she has, and what she accomplishes for the company.
I know girls straight out of high school making $14 an hour and some accomplished woman who a few years later are making $22 an hour like this girl is requesting after building themselves up and showing their worth to the company.

What kind of skills does she have? Is she expected to produce data from spreadsheets and formulate illustrations for that data? Does she have accounting skills that she is expected to use daily? Does her job include explaining complex rules/laws/ policies? Is she expected to work with little or no supervision and be responsive to changing timelines?

800 a week for those hours is like $22/hour. So that's above average market rate but if you think she provides exceptional value (lots of responsibility, etc) then she is worth more than average. How much more than average depends. When you say lots of responsibility, what does that include - does that include jobs/tasks that are not usually included in secretarial work? Because I think when people talk about the going rate for secretaries they mean the people who answer the phones and do light filing and such, sending faxes for you, things like that. If you have her acting as more of an office manager then that deserves more.

What does that include? Secretarial 'work' is very different depending on the business or industry, whether it is public or private sector.
