My dd wasn't feeling well last week. Vomiting, fever, and stomach aches. Tuesday she went onto meds for strept. By Thursday she was feeling much better although she was still complaining on stomach aches here and there. Now she threw up. What's this throwing up now after a week on meds? Why is she still complaining that her stomach hurts?
I'm scared to ask my dr cuz this meds was through asisa in bp and he gets mad when patients go there

Be attentive she must have lots of fluids, but lemon water even with sugar is better than plain water. Put a pinch of salt in it.

Does it look like the strept is coming back?
Sometimes antibiotic doesn't heal strept

Very typical to be throwing up due to the antibiotics which can be strong on the stomach. Make sure she takes the meds on a full stomach and make sure she is supplementing with acidophilus/probiotics (can buy in pharmacy/health food store).

Ok my daughter just had the same thing for over 2 weeks! Got meds for strept but still had fever and threw up and complain that stomic hurts! Went to er one night did chest xray and cbc. Was ok but found that she also has bronchitis. However the meds that she's taking for strept should help for this. Few days later went back to doc cuz she still had all symptoms. Doc was like if she has bronchitis why didnt they change the meds. Now a few days later bh feels and looks much better! Please check her out by doc and tell him everything!

Good luck

The original shortening of streptococcus was strept and the it was further shortened go strep, so strept is actually correct.

Antibiotics often cause stomach issues. While the medicine it killing off the bacteria it also kills the good bacteria that lives in the digestive tract. Probiotics are a good idea, to combat the effects. If you're worried, go to your doctor. If he gives you a hard time, tell him he should be open for longer hours then people wouldn't have to go to urgent care.

It's not. Strep is the correct shortened medical version.

If you don't want to take the word of a random online person you can just google the word strept and it automatically corrects it to strep. Strept is not a word.

Op here, dr took cbc b"h it's down to to normal. He says he sees this a lot lately. It's probably from dehydration. Kid is acting perfectly normal so he's not very concerned.

op, even if the doc says she's fine, I'd have her eat a lot of yogurt for a while. antibiotics can really mess with your digestive system.
