I'm in my 30s and haven't been to NY for a while. The crowd will be mostly yeshivish. What should I wear?

Are there any fashionistas here?

A floral crop top with a matching solid color skirt, not a straight skirt (A-line, gathered, etc.)
Alternatively, you can wear anything classy that you like and looks good on you!

What's in your closet? I wouldnt buy new clothing for a bar mitzvah unless I had nothing acceptable.

My Shabbos clothing is worn out, too small and visibly outdated. It was already hand me downs when I first wore them 10 years ago. I'm planning to get something nice for Yom Tov anyway.
Just curious, why shouldn't I wear a straight skirt?

Cuz non-straight skirts are now "in." You could of course wear a straight skirt if the rest of your outfit is up-to-date.
