I want to buy my niece a gift for a fifteenth birthday.
I know she likes reading all those young adult fantasy novels and thought to buy her a book any recommendation for one that isn't to relationship centered or maybe a different idea altogether?

I rather get an actual gift. She will be able to exchange it if she wants.

Amazon gift card. Package it attractively in a book-themed card or box. This will show that you understand and respect her interest in reading. Teenagers are really, really hard to shop for and you are likely to end up with a well-meaning near-miss if you don't know for sure what she wants.

does she watch movies/tv shows, go to broadway etc... bc a book about the making of her favorite movie/show/b'way would be an amazing gift. for instance. If she's a princess bride fan, cary elwes just came out with a book about the making of the movie... there are so many "art of [insert movie title here]" or books about how books are adapted for stage or video etc. etc. I love behind the scenes stuff, but a lot of those books are 40 or more, and I can't only rationalize getting them myself.
