I have to wax poetic about walnuts. Over the weekend friends left a 35 lb bag of walnuts on my porch. These are fresh in the shell and I had to dry them first. Tonight I 'tested' my first one. Blond, sweet, not tannic, crunchy and not dried out. One of the true delights of fall.
Now back to your regular programing.

Sounds amazing! I see pecan and almond trees around me but not walnut. Never had them that fresh. Enjoy!

I'm going to start cracking tonight. It will take me a while but I'm excited. I have lots of friends who enjoy glazed nuts so there will be more folks than me enjoying them.
