My 6 year old dd still sucks her thumb. Lately, it's gotten worst and she does it all day.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like self-soothing. I dont see why you'd want to stop it. In this day and age of so much stress, I'd let her have this way to chill out. Thumb sucking is surely better than binge eating or nose picking.
If it's affecting her teeth formation, then maybe take her to an orthodontist for advice.

My daughter just turned 6. I've been wanting her to stop already for a long time.
If she just did in bed or during down time to self sooth it would be okay.
But she was doing it all the time, during class, recess, playing other kids. It was really disgusting, lots of germs and sore throats, and she spaced out when she did it.
We started a contest last year for a very exciting prize. She stopped and started many times.
We tried the burning nail polish but didn't really work.
She created multiple charts and made checks for herself each day she didn't suck it. I think she finally did it, but it really had to come from her. We are waiting a full month to see if she keeps it up and then she gets her long awaited prize (pierced ears!)
