Seeking info. It sounds like fun and I'm considering signing up (specifically,in NYC). Does anyone know what it's called? Can someone direct me to their website?
Has anyone here done it?

geocaching.

Not sure if that is what you are looking for, but its a lot of fun.

Download the geocaching app. You can pay for premium membership which allows you to see caches not in your immediate area, I think.

How it works is that a person hides a cache (usually a small box containing a logbook and sometimes, some small toys eg hair elastics, toy cars, wtvr.)

You use the geocaching app to get closer and closer to it and then you have to find the cache. Its hard - we haven't always found it. If you find it, sign the log, and switch the toys if you want. (carry some items to switch)

I've mostly done it in more country areas (parks, hiking trails) but there are caches everywhere.

Funny story - once we found someones buried wallet while searching for a cache.

BTW I never paid for premium membership since I never felt the need to.

Sounds interesting, but I don't think it's what I'm talking about. Will look into it, though. Thanks.

OK, I found Strayboots.com. Seems more like what I'm looking for. I also found a deal on Groupon. Did anyone ever do that tour?

Yes, we've done several of them and always had a great time - highly recommended!

Did you do any of the NYC tours? Is there one you especially liked? We're thinking of doing the Bryant Park/Grand Central tour.
