I am generally not a TV-watcher or movie type, I really don't like it in theory - I feel it pulls me down. But sometimes I go through rough periods in life where I really need a mood booster and sometimes a good funny show helps. I find that old shows tend to be pretty clean and mild - for a while I was going through old Cosby Show episodes on youtube, if I was in the mood for REALLY retro I would watch old Abbot and Costello or Honeymooners.
So I don't know if those aren't amusing me anymore because I'm in a depressed funk, or if it's just that I've seen enough of them that they're just not entertaining anymore.
I need something new. Must be humorous and pretty clean - I am OK with mild swearing (of the "d*mn" variety) and mild sxuality but basically my level is PG.
I go for sweet and heartwarming as well as funny but prefer at least a mixture of both with some humor in there. I need help laughing and relaxing.

You might like The Mindy Project.
Call The Midwife is very heartwarming (it's an amazing show!) but not so humorous.
Better Off Ted is very funny, but not necessarily the heartwarming type.

I love The Mindy Project, but it is quite dirty - lost of s-xual innuendo, definitely not PG.
Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier are funny, smart, and not dirty.

Hulu has any number of clean TV shows for free, including Doc. Martin.

Seinfeld!
You can watch on Hulu. My husband and I watch an episode every night before we go to sleep - it's (for the most part) very clean, light, and easy to watch.

Love these two! Although "are you begin served" has quite a bit of s*xual innuendo (but nothing explicit as far as I remember)
