when going to a simcha- what has been your favorite or most unique schmorg food- cuz that's the best part of the meal in my opinion.
I love sweet breads- that's a treat and grilled chicken on a stick- easy to eat and no mess.

Many weddings serve sushi and sashimi at the reception. I'm perfectly happy with that and a cocktail!

I don't eat at the schmorg because I don't want to eat two meals and I know I will, schmorg and sit down. I also don't eat at kiddushim in shuls on shabbos.

Mashed potato with toppings, yum! Was the potato "bar" a fad? I haven't seen it recently.

I often don't eat the main course, because we leave right after the first dance. So the shmorg is dinner. I like sweet and sour tongue- it's a treat I don't get often. Also sushi. Dh is a big fan of the pastrami carving stations.

The only simchos that I've really been to are family ones and those we stay almost till the end . I don't even really know what is served by a schmorg .

Same here! Pretty much anything that's too fussy and complicated for me to make, but it sitting right in front of me.
-except liver and tongue. DH can have all he wants, just save me some sushi and grilled chicken.

Ribs, or sesame chicken. I like to have teeny tiny portions of a few meats, and then a larger amount of whatever interesting vegetables I find.

I like when they have a Mexican (or pseudo-Mexican) stand with beans and avocado and salsa and spiced chicken in a mini tortilla.
Sushi, but only if it's good (must have good wasabi).

Egg rolls, no doubt about it. Then egg rolls...and more egg rolls. Did I mention egg rolls?

I don't eat at schmorgasbords unless I'm utterly famished.
Eating is something I want to enjoy doing.
When eating is a balancing act performed standing up amidst ever-shifting crowds and often in a non-climate controlled environment, I rather pass and wait for dinner.
