DD started having O.T. at three for sensory realated reasons. Now shes four and her therapist desided she needs it now for focus. I dont see any changes. Is it normal to have O.T. for that? Will it come with maturity? Is there anything we can do to help her at home? Or is it just way for her theapisist to keep billing me?

Yes, OT can be for focusing issues. However, it is something that is hard to concretely measure. I am not an OT, but I am a firm believer that one can strengthen certain pathways in the brain, by doing exercises that seem unrelated, but in actuality, it helps stimulate the areas in the brain that deal with focusing. That is one of the ideas behind OT.

A lot of this has to do with neuroscience and neuro-plasticity of the brain and how you can retrain the brain and make it stronger.
