There's tons of ice built up in it and I don't have that much food in it right now so I can store elsewhere while it defrosts. Whats the easiest method?

Thanks!

Just unplug it. be sure to put a towel under the door/right under so water gets wiped up easier. leave opened to air at the same time.

turn it off ... then wipe it down

wow I thought ice was a thing of the past

I once got my tongue stuck to the freezer - back in the day they had a little one inside the fridge with a thinner door that you pulled down [my sister told me to lick the freezer or was it my sister who did it]

No experience with stand-alone freezers, but I used to have an old-fashioned fridge with a frosty freezer. This is how I did it:

Empty the freezer
Place towels on the floor and inside the freezer to catch drips
Unplug the appliance
Wait
Mop up

To make it go faster, I would carefully use a blow dryer (don't let it get wet). Never use a sharp object to remove frost, as you may damage various parts of the freezer, but I have used a wooden spoon to help nudge it along. Be sure to have plenty of towels on hand and someplace to put wet towels and chunks of frost.

I hope this helps!
