If you received a mini gumball machine full of candy, what kind wouldn't you be able to resist?

I have these cute mini gumball machines to fill for MM. I want to fill them with something people will like - chocolate, spiced nuts, jelly beans...?

Ideally I'd like it to cover the two food requirement like putting in chocolate pieces and almonds.

Suggestions? Thanks!

I'm thinking to fill it with homemade candied pecans and chocolate pieces.

Honestly, I would want the candies individually wrapped. Your idea is cute, but I hate shalach monos with loose unwrapped bits of food. In my house those things end up in the trash. That's a waste of your time, money and creativity.

Candied nuts and chocolate sounds good, just make sure to get good quality. Can I be on your list this year? Wink

A homemade trail mix...a mix of dried fruits nuts and chocolate if you want to stay on the healthier side.

And I'd only give unwrapped things to close friends of family who I know will eat it.

If giving to others I'd Def go with something wrapped. What kind of mini chocolate bars are available where you live?

I agree with you and that's what I would have posted. Though unless you don't keep it for kashrus reasons, in this case I don't see it as being an issue because of the container it's in.

Chocolate has no chance of lasting four weeks in my home.

I would throw away loose candy/chocolate- not appetizing. Plus the tastes and smells of the different varieties end up getting intermingled when they are squished together unwrapped. How about filling it with those mini milk munch, encore, taami chocolates or similar? Yum!

I would eat chocolate or nuts unwrapped if it's yummy and from someone I trust. How about chocolate covered peanuts and candied almonds? I definitely wouldn't be able to resist that.

TBH I would prefer not to get candy at all, but if someone twisted my arm, I agree with Dr. Mom: Good quality chocolate or marzipan, preferably KLP.
