I bought a metal drinking cup that has crazy sticky remnants from a sticker on the bottom - NOTHING is getting it off, and I can't say I'll never be makpid on getting it off. I don't have any wd 40 and don't feel like buying just for this, what can I use? I've tried soap, oil, scrubbers, oven cleaner, steel wool - what works?

can also try applying very hot heat with a blow dryer and see if you can peel it off

A paste of baking soda and oil usually works. Just mix equal amounts of both and rub in with an abrasive sponge. Let it sit for about half an hour, scrub off, and rinse. Repeat if necessary.

I keep a bottle of Goo B Gone on my shelf and use it all the time. Definitely worth it. I am always buying things with stuck on stickers!

I have found Goo Be Gone (or a similar product) at the dollar store, so you needn't pay more by getting it at a hardware store. It's worth taking the trouble to buy it.

I second the eucalyptus oil. It has saved us hours of time removing stickers from metal, ceramic, glass etc
