I've been referred to Dr. Hassan for my 7 yo DC.
Any other suggestions?

He's really good. He's known as the best.

It would take me over an hour to get there by public transportation.

Maybe it's worth taking a car service?

I can't afford it but thanks for replying.. With traffic it's probably not much closer anyway.

If an hour of public transportation is too much, then maybe post your location so people can suggest closer.
Who's this Hassan? Never heard of him but if he's "the best" then maybe I should!

Also, if it's just for testing - which is basically a one-time thing, twice for follow up - maybe you can find a way to afford a car service. It's not like an ongoing expense. Maybe you can do one way by car and one way by public transportation, an hour isn't so major.

My sister went to him and he requires pretty steady visits for medication adjustments and refills. NOT that I'm planning to medicate as a first step.
I find it hard to believe there is no one else out there who does this, especially in Manhattan. Isn't ADHD the most common and "over-diagnosed" ailment in kids today?
Yeah it's in quotes because many of the people who go around saying this have no idea what it's like to live with it or with someone who struggles with it.

You said you're looking for testing. You can go to him for testing and follow up with someone else if medications and adjustments are warranted.
There are plenty of people who will diagnose ADHD but they're not all going to be the same quality. ADHD is tricky because there are many other things it can be confused with, in both directions. You want someone who is really thorough and perceptive and thinks of all possibilities.

Depending on your insurance you may qualify for car service via insurance.
