Rings a bell. Sorry for the hijack but I'd also love if someone could expand on something I remember hearing from Rabbi Yitchok Kirzner, zt"l, that when you cry you should rub the tears on your face. IIRC it's a Breslov thought.

well it makes you tear so you might as well get a good cry out of it ... but that's only if you're cutting a ton or too slowly ...
as for marror ~ I was quite disappointed this year - 'no woman no cry' - no grate cry - no eat cry & here there was plenty of reason
and you know how it goes ... crying is a woman's way of davening to hashem
