NYPD Inspector Michael Ameri was found dead in his parked car on Friday. Ameri was the commanding officer of the Highway Patrol Unit and was suspected of providing unauthorized escorts for members of the Orthodox Jewish community.
Ameri, 44, had served as the commanding officer of the Highway Patrol Unit and was the former commanding officer of the 78th Precinct in Park Slope, WCBS reported. He is remembered as having been “a friend to many Park Slopers,” as Park Slope Neighbors – a grassroots neighborhood advocacy group – tweeted. However, the officer was also being investigated by the Internal Affairs Bureau (IAB) as well as the FBI, the New York Post reported.....
Ameri’s stress reportedly began bubbling up earlier this year. When the probe was opened, he began distancing himself from important figures in the Orthodox community, such as Jona Rechnitz, Jeremy Reichberg and Alex ‘Shaya’ Lichtenstein. Investigators were looking into accusations that he approved of police providing escorts for funerals and other events in exchange for gifts and money.
Lichtenstein is an interesting figure in this case. He is a member of the Shomrim patrol – a volunteer security force in Orthodox parts of Brooklyn. He served with the Borough Park Shomrim patrol and, in mid-April, was charged with offering bribes to NYPD officers to obtain gun permits.
He was recorded offering an officer $6,000 and claimed to have received 150 permits in the past year due to connections at the License Division. These allegations have resulted in what the New York Times called “a top-to-bottom review of the License Division.”

The comments are atrocious, but IF Jews are found guilty, theyre well deserved, and dont help us simple law abiding Jews. Read them and cry.
Anyone insinuating the joos are bribing the police are anti-semites and wants to gas 6 million again.

Did he really commit suicide or was he suicided? It's unbelievable how so many people conveniently 'kill' themselves (as we were told happened to the DC Madam) before they can spill the beans on high level government officials and corporate leaders.

I think that there should be a rule that if someone posts something potentially incendiary, she should clearly state her POV. I support her right to go amother.

I don't get why that's newsworthy. Any time something like this happens, there's an uproar. These comments don't even seem extraordinarily anti Semitic.
If you want to see other scary posts, check out the comments on news sites after articles pertaining to the Israel- Palestinian conflict. Those are downright scary, as the haters are hating us based simply on our Jewishness, not for our participation in any sort of crime.

The thing about the Israel Palestinian conflict is that anything that was done by Israelis was done to save lives. Not so, those who do things that are huge causes of Chilul Hashem, and unless the perps are dead when perpetrating crime, which theyre not because theyre perpetrating crime, the perps know this!
How anyone can put the two in the same paragraph is beyond me.
One cant be avoided, one definitely can.

That was exactly my point. My point was that in this bribery case, some Jews did things that deserve criticism. As Jews, we are obligated to remain above suspicion, and we are held to a higher standard. Deviating from this standard causes others to deride us. comments about Jews' negative behavior in this case is not anti Semitic, it is factual.
Whereas with the Israel Palestinian conflict, the comments are true anti Semitism.
