Where can I find something elegant for the bar mitzvah? I'm one of the first of my friends to make a bar mitzvah, and I'm not sure what I want/what's appropriate. Although I am pretty simple, DH and DS are planning a more elegant affair, and I would like to dress accordingly. I am willing to spend for something absolutely stunning. I am interested in stores that would carry nice dresses appropriate for the mother of the bar mitzvah bachur, and would consider online suggestions, links appreciated.

What is your price range?
Miri's for example, has beautiful elegant stuff, but easily 500 or more..
Talking fashion you can probably find something for around 200..
Raquels- also pricier

If you can afford Miri prices, that should probably be your first stop. Gorgeous, classy European pieces which look custom made and are so flattering.
Exquisite might have some stunning dresses in a lower price range - depends on the season.
Brenda's has an entire floor upstairs devoted to dressier pieces - but they can also be very expensive.

Thanks! I think I will definitely check out Miri's. Would Finds and Co. have what I'm looking for? Does Expressions still exist, and would they be an appropriate destination? Also, can someone post links to online dresses? It's a summer simcha and I prefer lighter, summery colors.

Expressions is still around.
I think Finds and Co has extremely dressy for weddings. Not sure if you would find what you're looking for.
