I had laser hair removal done for the first time to my hairline. I have a very low starry hairline. So far nothing has fallen out, is this normal?

I had it's done many years ago but as far as I remember they shaved the area and then they used the laser and I smelled an odor like burning hair. there wasn't any hair to see just that the new growth kept coming in thinner until after about 6 treatments there was no more hair. I had my hairline done and the sides of my face and the back of my neck
