Home Depot and Lowes both don't have what I need - white screws 1.5 inches - what other hardware stores might have?

I use white out on the heads if the color is an issue. It doesn't bind up the screw like paint does.

Great idea, thanks! What does bind up mean?

screws come in more than just colour and length ... there is width to consider as well
then there are philips, flat slotted, security hex, just to name a few head styles
if that's not enough you will need to know if it's for wood, metal, for hinges or drywall, etc
if it's pointy to help sink into item, or flat to just marry, or 1/2 smooth, or if it has teeth with extra bite etc because the end of the screw is as important as the head
we won't get into drivers - but that's another important contender

It makes it more difficult to unscrew them when you need to.
