There are apps and websites that offer live streaming of various sporting events, some for a fee and some for free.

I think that the leagues (NBA, etc) allow you to pay to stream some games via their website.

No, not live. He wants to watch sports games but we don't have TV and we don't let him use unfiltered internet (like youtube).

Well, you can't watch anything without a tv or an internet connection, unless you have a dvd or some other copy of the content. Also, sports leagues guard their content quite zealously, so it is very difficult to watch sports without cable or subscribing to specific streaming services that the leagues have a deal with.

Thanks for explaining. Yah, I was wondering if people tape them and sell them or share with friends. Sounds like it's not so common. I will try the suggestions here. Thanks!
