Anyone know where I can purchase carpet made of natural fibers?
I have severe asthma so regular carpet won't do, and my landlord insists on carpet in the hallway and stairs.

Also, I've found that wool and jute can shed, so that can be an irritant. I've used beautiful rag rug style carpets from Crate and Barrel, and they were fine for me.

Honestly, carpet made of any material, holds onto dust, just because of the way it's made. In my experience, all carpet is not good for asthma, only flooring.

Often this is the rule in apartment buildings.
Perhaps, though you can get a cork rug? http://corkrug.com/corkrug_photos.html
No experience with this, but you may be spared some dust mites, and it probably absorbs sound.
