I made Challah but I forgot and I used regular flour and not High Gluten.

Then, dough was too sticky, so I added flour, perhaps a bit too much flour.

I want to use this dough for something else, thats perhaps more forgiving than Challah, that has to be a perfect consistency.

What can I use this (messed up) Challah dough for? Cocoash? Buns?

TIA

here's a little secret add a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed [because of it's high protein content] & voila - your challah will be reawakened

or you could go the babke route ... I would still fix the dough - the high gluten [also high in protein] is still needed for this type of yeast cake

I never use high gluten flour and my challah is always just fine. A little extra flour won't do any major damage either. If you're really worried that it seems way too dry, you can add back a little water or oil, but it's probably just fine and will feel better after it rises some more. I think the idea that challah has to be Perfect is an OCD myth.

But you can also make garlic knots or babka or something.

When I have extra challah dough I put sauce, cheese, and toppings on it and make homemade pizza. Or I roll it up and it's a calzone. It will not be as flat as pizza dough but it tastes delicious.
