Came by because I thought this was going to be a discussion about nature vs nurture.
But it's not.
So I have a problem.
No way I can figure out how to twist myself into a pretzel and squeeze myself into a pigeonhole that will fit neatly in one line or less here on this thread.
Does that mean I'm going to get kicked out?

There will be a long line behind you if that happens.

I don't think op had any real plan for this thread. She must have thought your nature is your jewish affiliation and your nurture is where you live.

Of course not! I'm just trying to figure out what she must have thought when starting this thread.

Lakewood, yeshivish. That's a spectrum, BTW. I also have heimish/chassidish roots. So does DH. I'm not sure though that the Lakewood, yeshivish is what nurtures me.

We are all adults here. Most of us are living where we decided to, not where we grew up or someone told us to go.

I think OP was trying to see how someone's surroundings growing up reflects their path of Judaism. you would expect someone from certain places to follow certain paths and is interesting when they don't.
It's interesting to see how many people are what they are because they were brought up that way or despite their community.
Nature vs. nurture.
Pretty straightforward.
