Think carefully. Are you quite, quite sure you want to do this? Maybe you're in shanah rishonah and think you're doing this just this once, but you'll be setting a precedent and creating an opportunity for disappointment and hurt feelings if you don't continue. Do you really want to have to come up with eight different gifts every year for the rest of your married life?

An even better reason to stop doing this now. Three times and you've got a chazakah. Of course if you don't mind having to scramble for ideas every year, do so gezunteh heit. But don't come crying to imamother in a few years griping that you've already bought dh everything he could possibly need or want and you have to come up with better and newer and more expensive ideas all the time. just sayin'...eizehu chacham? haroeh et hanolad.
