At what age did you take your child to the dentist for the 1st time?
My pediatrician told me to take my toddler but all they did was a basic brushing with a hand toothbrush that I could have done at home.. Wondering if this was a mistake and waste of time to bring her until she is older.

I also took my toddler and had the same experience. I'm happy I took her for 2 reasons:
1. Now it's a normal part of life, which will hopefully avoid the "I'M NOT GOING TO THE DENTIST" tantrum
2. They told me that a tooth never came in. Even though they won't do an x-ray until she's older, I like that I know about it. (It's a tiny space, not easily noticeable that it's missing.)
