Does anyone know if the dermatologist Lois Finerman is still practicing? I think I remember vaguely that she retired not so long ago.
Or does anyone have a recommendation for a woman dermatologist, preferably on Meuchedet? I think I have thrush and I'd like to go to a dr, but I need someone who knows what they are talking about.

Just curious: Isn't thrush an infection in the mouth? And if so why the need for a woman dr?

If the infection is on her breast, she could pass it to an infant during nursing. It's pretty common. Just ask your pharmacist for some genetian violet, and paint it on yourself between feedings. It will stain like crazy, but it's fairly harmless. Just rinse your breasts before every nursing, and paint it back on after the baby is done. Annoying, but very effective.

Dr. Finerman is retired now.
There is another american female dermatologist, Dr. Leona Fisher, who practices at Wolfson and at Givat Shaul and I think in Ramot too, on Meuchedet. I took DD to her once and she was very nice.

I had thrush on my breasts while nursing my youngest. Now I am pregnant, not nursing anymore and I think the thrush never fully went away. My nipples are still pink and they feel a bit sore and sometimes itchy. I've been using antifungal creams but I don't feel like it's helping. I went to a dr while I was still nursing and was really uncomfortable, but the creams she suggested didn't really help me either.
I'm nervous that when I start nursing again the thrush will come back full force with all that milk and wetness in the area.
I feel like I should go to a dermatologist cuz I'm not really sure if it's thrush, but I do want someone who would know how to treat it if it is thrush.

I also recommend Dr. Fisher.

For thrush you can ask your gynecologist to give you a cream, no need to wait for a skin doctor.

You can even ask a GP.

Go to a family doctor or a gyn. It's not worth waiting a couple weeks to see a dermatologist. You can schedule an appointment for one, but see someone else meanwhile. It is generally fairly easy to treat. You don't need a big specialist unless you are not responsive to other treatments.
