We like the name eitan for our son..bris is Sunday so getting slightly panicked we have no name yet!

Does anyone know the source of this name or what it really means.. Google seems to say strong and I've seen flowing.. But I would never have thought someone could be strong and flowing?

I want to really understand the name.. And have so little time to research so any insights from moms of eitans would be such a help!

Mazal tov!

Agreed, I've only heard it meaning mighty, and as a reference to Avraham Avinu.

I remember learning that Avraham Avinu was called Aison Haezrachi, the strong one from the east
