This is beyond horrific.
Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

The poor poor baby.

I feel a sorry for the dog owners. But that dog shouldn't be in an environment where it can injure people.

Rs to that little boy.
Just terrible

This one is hard to figure. They were filming almost 20 seconds before the dog attacked.

Well, the dog's going to be killed now, anyway. It's the law.

Don't feel bad for the dog owners . This was an ongoing issue with people complaining.

That's is sooooo scary. That's what all the hatzalas were for when I drove home from shopping last night at that time. I was right there. Poor poor poor kid. I hope the dog dies and the child recovers nicely and fast. Refuah shelaima!

My children watched the toddler being attacked. We live right there.
Chaverim pulled the video from a security camera attached to a home across the street.

It is only because of that video that police took away the dog.

Until it went viral, they only told the owner to keep the dog confined for 10 days.

It is extremely important to install security cameras.

Terrifying! I teach my kids not to be afraid of dogs. Maybe I should reconsider.

Pitbulls are known to be vicious animals. Anybody who owns Pitbulls has to be extra liable for any damage / injury.

How do you protect your kids and yourself if a dog charges? We've just had this discussion the other day, as there are many dogs in my neighborhood, and one guy was heard to want to have his dogs attack a Jewish lady passing by.

Please don't let a freak accident color your view of every dog.

More people are bitten by poodles and cocker spaniels every year, than all the large breeds put together. My chihuahuas are more likely to attack than a pit bull.

Unless a dog is bred with a neurological disorder, dogs are no better or worse than the people who own them. Dogs who are bred to fight or protect will have a stronger instinctive drive, but it's on the owner to train, control, and raise that dog to be a member of society.

Some of the sweetest dogs I've ever known have been pits, rotties, and dobermans, in the hands of responsible people. Some of the worst dogs I've known have been toy breeds, who have been "babied" by their stupid owners.

Dogs don't kill people, irresponsible dog owners kill people. Mad Mad Mad

I agree that once a dog has attacked or killed, it should be put down. I also think that a fine is not nearly enough of a punishment for the owners. The should be jailed, and banned from having a pet for life.

A dog who does this does need to be put down so it wont happen again, but it's really punishing the wrong party. The owners are the ones fully responsible. I had a pitbull in my younger years and it was the sweetest, smartest, gentlest dog I have ever known. But they are extremely strong dogs and in the wrong hands - when not socialized well and trained well, yes, they can be aggressive and deadly. So, fine, they put the dog down. But I hope the owners have a very serious consequence - not some little hundred dollar fine - because really you can't blame a dog for being a dog. Humans need to do better.

I hope the little boy makes a very quick and full recovery.

Kids should not be afraid of dogs or of people for that matter. They should be taught how to recognize when an animal or person can be considered safe and when it can't. With dogs, a general rule is to ask the owner of the dog if it is friendly before approaching.
