Do you like to read sad books?

I don't. But I published one based on my real life story and a lot of people tell me they liked it, even reread it. I appreciate the feedback, but don't really get it.

Sometimes, when I need to cry.. there is one book I will pick up and start in the middle (I generally hate starting in the middle) bc I know that there are several places on there that makes me cry...

Crying can be positive.. help you cleanse. St you're just having a really crappy time and need to cry and let it all out, but it's hard and so you pick up a sad book (or movie or song or whatever triggers the tears.) And it helps it come out.

It's ok to be sad for a while.

Maybe your writing is elegant and they also enjoyed how you tried to make sense or move on from your experience? And if they know you personally or went through something similar it's that much more meaningful.
Hugs!

I’ll read a sad book but dislike when it’s a true story… Same for videos, touching or not, I hate “get your tissues” things and avoid crying like the plague. Still a valuable book I’ll read.
