Chicken + sauce with sweet potatoes?

I usually make my chicken with a sauce (soy sauce, tomato sauce, honey, mustard etc) and I often roast potatoes together with it. Will sweet potatoes come nice as well or is it the wrong sort of sauce for them? (I hardly ever use them though would like to try it).
