Are you referring to the family whose name starts with an "E", and the wedding was in Brooklyn, a while back? I hope the same thing didn't happen again CH"V.

I remember a neighbor of mine got married, and her mom passed away the night of the wedding. (she was very sick, and did not attend.) they had to carry on as if nothing happened, after the wedding, they were told and sat shiva. only the kallah attended her sheva bruchas, and sat shiva the last day.

I know of a situation similar to that and it was defintaly for the besteven though some of the family thought that it wasn't right to keep it from the bride.

Just out of curiosity, why couldn't the chosson attend sheva brachos? He wasn't the one who lost a relative.
