Let's see if you dare
mention the way
you cover your hair
Tichels and berets
Shaitels and falls
Is it Muttar or Assur?
Is my screen name on a temporary ban?
Must I change my avatar if I can?

I don't do poems,
But I'll try
I wear scarf-ems,
I don't know why
After today
I will go out and buy
A wig-a
And wear it with pride
I'd rather go to hell
With these nice women
Than wear a tichel
And be mean by association
So while I still wear a scarf
Around my head each day
I hope nobody barfs
Thinking that I think of them that way
One day I'll have money
To buy a nice new sheitel
I'll put it on and feel sunny
And I'll know I'm still eidel
Okay, I tried to rhyme. But basically, I wear scarves, and being that I don't have a very good reason why, (not sefardi or living in Israel) and I don't want to be guilty by association, as soon as I can afford a wig, I will buy one, and wear it with pride.

I wear tichels as my crown
But on people that wear sheitels I don't look down.
My mothers went through such hardships for me
To show me the torah and its true beauty.
I cover my hair this special way
Not because of anything anyone has to say.
(Yes the rav I follow says sheitels are not okay
But it is not a black and white subject- it is gray)
P.s. although this is my first time posting anything on the tichels/sheitels thread
It sure was entertaining reading them right before bed
ETA tichels not tickles (yes that was autocorrect )

Warning: poetry challenged poster ahead!
I wear the same burgundy chenille snood everyday. Sometimes I wear my sheitel on shabbos, when I have a meeting with the school it a simcha. I also wear it just after washing it when it still looks and feels good.
I'd love to wear scarves, but I only have a black one, and I'm not into the taliban look. I'd love to have lots of colorful ones.
In my chareidi, Israeli community many ladies wear colorful scarves. The teachers in the beis Yaakov and ganim wear sheitels. Except some Sefardim. The chassidish morahs have a covered sheitel.
The wife of the Sefardi Rav wears a sheitel on occasion.

Although my husband is Chabad
There is no sheitel on my bod.
I don't like them because they itch
And that can make me a real b*****.
So a tichel I do wear
To cover up my zexy hair.

That's autocorrect for tichel.

I wear sheitals
its topsy turvy for Chabad women
Sheitals are better
tichels only in the house
One sheital for shabbos and social occasions
one sheital for running and exercising and the beach
two dozen assorted tichels and scarves and berets and pretieds for the house
but sometimes I cheat
and sneak to the corner shop
in my tichel
don't tell anyone!
But as for you, wear what you want
or wear nothing at all
I will still be your friend

Mostly, I wear hats;
I have a large collection.
While going out to work
Or making social connection.
But sometimes, I'll opt for a scarf
Just to add variety
Or if it matches what I am wearing --
A color splash with propriety.
At home, my favorite old pre-tied
Is often on my pate.
On guest free Shabbos, a chenille snood
Is warm, and can look great.
DH says that sheitels
In his mind aren't right.
"Why cover hair with hair?"
And I don't like to fight.
But a few years ago, I got tired
Of at some simchas being the only one
So found a sheitel for free at a gemach
And wear it sometimes in Lakewood when DH doesn't come.
So much space in my wardrobe is given
To all of these kinds of covering;
To these looks I can create
While my poor hair I'm smothering!

There once was a lady who wore a wig
Even though the pins did dig
Her sister wore snoods
Her mother, depended on the mood
And everyone did a happy jig

I'm Lubavitch and a sheitel I wear,
On my head to cover my hair.
A tichel I will wear within my home,
Even when I'm alone.
What others do, is for them to decide,
There are different opinions as to what's right.
(And even those who do not cover properly,
It's up to Hashem and not to me.)

A haiku
I dream of the day
I wear a lovely tichel
Pink, or with glitter

A wig is what I wear
Attractive and long
If I cut it a bit
My shalom bayis won't be strong

A woman is told to cover
Because the rabbis discovered
if she had no wig
a guy's eyes would grow big
and around the girls they would hover.

Some background:
Mom got me the wig.
DH loved how long it was.
I said I will cut it s but it's longer then I usually wear.
DH said no way you look awesome.
So I leave it (feeling a bit guilty).
Mom continues to annoy me about cutting it.
I tell her butt out.
DH says it's time I stop listening to her and respect his wish (he's right)
I get comments and looks and unwanted attention that make me feel uncomfortable
I want to cut it an inch but im tea stuck now.
Argh!
Don't want to go to h-ll for people looking but don't want my marriage to suffer also
So don't judge!!

Upon my tresses sits a schmatta
It’s not attractive, but ya do what ya gotta
I’d look more polished with a sheitel
But I just don’t find that I am able.
For if I did I would wonder so:
From whose scalp did my glossy pageboy once grow?
Some poor Jane Doe from the former USSR?
Or – more likely -- Aaradhya Kumar.

I wear a sheitel when I go to work
when going out on Shabbos,
or at a simcha I lurk.
Otherwise, my tichel's pretied,
whether in Brooklyn, the country or the east side.
I used to always wear a snood,
but when they get stretched out,
I'm in a bad mood.
But I rarely notice and do not care
what it is that others wear.
And if you're not covered at all;
I still accept that that's your call.
What you wear is up to you.
To yourself you must be true.
But mashiach may wait for us to decide
what we will tolerate on the head of his bride.
