Just checking if what the sales rep said is accurate. Must the door always remain open in order to avoid the mold issue?

I got a front load a few months ago and this is news to me. I don't have any mold, but I have only had it 5 months. I clean the rubber gasket well and figured that was enough.

I have a top-loader and keep it open, too. It makes sure it gets air-dried inside.

Yes! Once a machine gets mold on it, its excruciatingly difficult to get rid of the mold, and the smell.

Yes, I open it up every night when I’m all done washing and avoided the mold issue with the door. But I didn’t know that it’s also a good idea to leave the “drawer” open too. My cleaning lady accidentally pulled it out and it was full of mold in there.

We were told to leave it open between loads as well.

I keep it open while the dryer is going, which is about 2 hours and then it's usually dry by then, so I close it. Never had a problem.
