Yes I did bloodwork before. That doesn't tell whether or not a person will suffer side effects. There is no way to know in advance.

It's been around for at least 20 years.
Who told you there was nothing to do about it. It's a simple relatively painless treatment that is done in the dermatologist's office. They inject the cyst and literally within hours, it is deflated and leaves no scar.
It was a life changer for me when I found out about it.

I don't know who "they" are in terms of telling you there was nothing that could be done but I doubt that Israeli doctors are unaware of what is a very common simple procedure done in the office.
Ask your PCP for a referral to a competent dermatologist
It's pretty well known that the injections are the absolute answer to getting rid of a cyst quickly and with minimal chances of scarring. I have had no residual scarring from any cyst injected.

I have also suffered from cystic acne my whole life. I have tried everything. Spironolactone and acutane and severe dietary changes and seeing a naturopathic doctor did not help me.
If you have a cyst you can go to a dermatologist and get it injected to make it go down. If you can't make it there and your cyst gets infected you can go to a walk in clinic to be prescribed antibiotics. There is medicine they can prescribe to make your skin heal faster.
Sulfer is what makes cysts go down. You can buy a bar of sulfer soap anywhere. Try to get a dermatologist to prescribe you a cream and a soap of this, and you can put the cream on under your makeup during the day, or put a lot of sulfer soap directly on your cyst at night. This is important because it will make your cyst go down without going to a doctor, so if it is a weekend or you are travelling make sure you have sulfer wtih you.
Your doctor can put you on a low dosage of anitbiotics until your face gets under control.
It might be stress or it might just be hormones. I find sitting in the sauna helps my skin to heal faster, or at least breaks down the daily scabs so I can look okay in makeup. A few times a year I do just put a bandaid over the cyst until it gets a little more reasonable. Yes I have gone to work like that and it stinks!
Make sure you have really good makeup wipes and cleanse your skin thoroughly every day. Change towels and pillow cases daily until your skin calms down.
I find that powder makeup sometimes helps my skin to heal faster. I deninitely don't touch it while I am wearing any- but I try not to wear makeup any day I am not at work.
Try even washing your sheitel after a big cyst goes down. Make sure you wash your makeup brushes and utensils a lot.
And remember you are not your skin and your self worth is not your skin and this won't last forever.

My mother did get an injection once and the scar is still there- so it is possible.
Believe it or not I have been going to competent dermatologists for 25 years and specialists and only one of them mentioned sulfer- so I don't think everyone is aware of it. It does take a few days to a few weeks, but I actually keep some in my purse for emergencies. If you feel a cyst forming and put sulfer on immediatley it will go down. If you don't as you know it can balloon until your face feels disfigured and a part of it is double sized. So I think sulfer is amazing. Some dermatologists might also prescribe you an antibiotic for emergencies so you don't have to go if you get it on Shabbos.

Sulfer makes the cyst go down, so every night some oozing occurs as all that gross stuff comes out of your cysts. That's why I said change the pillow cases and wash everything.
If this is genetic or hormonal it won't last forever :-)

Cyst injections are amazing but not realistic if you have to work and can't get an appointment! Also they can scar, so sulfer is better!

Acne is a sign of backup/constipation of the lymphatic system. Try a cleanse and see if that helps. Or try to eat only plant based for a few days to see if that helps. Then you'll take it from there .

This! I started it about 3 months ago and my acne cleared up within 2 weeks! I didn't have severe acne though, but I had enough of breakouts that I'm taking this. No side effects, not as risky as acutane. Would try this before acutane for sure!

Thank you so much for all of your input!
I went to a local dermatologist, and the course of action now is to do steady cortisone injections, as well as a topical Finacea cream. No dietary changes, no special creams or masks for now.
Let's hope it helps!....

If I have cystic acne with small cysts and sometimes just white head pimples will sulfer work for me? Do you suggest I wash my face with it morning and might and then leave some to try in the areas that I feel something and on the open pores that always erupt? Can I use it with medication and other creams as well?

Nothing helped my severe acne as a teen, until I finally went on the pill. Not for birth control, for the acne treatment. It worked beautifully. It's also helped during the bouts of acne I've gotten as an adult, though obviously not always an option for a married woman. As I've gotten older, my acne has gotten better, and now (late thirties) I hardly notice it.

I've tried it all too. Nothing helped.
Proactiv calmed it somewhat for a year or two.
I found that hormone imbalance is a huge culprit. The pill can make it better or worse - everyone differently.
Diet was the next biggie. You seem to be on a pretty healthy diet though so I'm not really sure. yeast in the body makes it a lot worse.
Personally, all external things such as creams, Accutane, ointments and such helped while I was on it but not long term. When I cleaned up my diet and started taking a good dose of probiotics and then focused on getting my hormones under control naturally is when I finally got some relief.
And I still get some acne occasionally but after 15 years of struggling with it I can say that its definitely worth to go the natural route.
(BTW I did have a few sessions with somebody who practices HK who finally helped me identify triggers) |
How do I find out if I have yeast in my body? And what is HK?

I used to do facials once a month. Until I learned how to squeeze out the blackheads and white heads myself. I do it before it becomes a pimple.

I have a lot to learn on this topic because my teenage daughter has terrible, terrible skin. She has both the cystic acne - the kind that starts deep below the skin, in the flesh, and emerge as a pus-filled nodule - and she also has colonies of blackheads throughout her face, although she's pretty good about washing her face & showering. She also has, on top of all this, really dry, flaky skin.
So I'm confused. Some say probiotics, some say antibiotics. Aren't they opposites?
Also how do antibiotics help? If a person is suffering from acne for years, shouldn't it disappear by coincidence as soon as they're treated for strep or bronchitis? What would stop it from coming back, if it's a chronic condition?
Also what's Spironolactone?
Sorry I didn't mean to hijack. I've been thinking about this for a long time. I know I should take her to a dermatologist (I'm in Lakewood) but I want to go into his office informed about any options he may offer my daughter.
