My 7 year old DD gets upset any time I correct her (ie when we're doing HW and she reads a word wrong, yes I ignore most of her mistakes) and often just . . . gets really upset (in a crying to herself for 2 minutes way) but won't tell me what it's about, even though I ask her.
In general, she is an easygoing, great kid. I want to teach her that it's okay to get upset sometimes and explain to the people around her why (she does the getting upset part but not the letting anyone know why part) and also that it's okay to get something wrong.
I've tried talking about it (the above sentence) but it hasn't made a dent
