Rinsing out the tooth with salt water. And as much Motrin as she is allowed to take for her age.

My husband got out of needing a root canal for an abscessed tooth by oil pulling. He uses 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and swishes it around in the mouth for as long as possible, for around 15-20 minutes, and don't swallow. Spit into garbage can, not sink. Rinse mouth out. It helps to keep her busy watching something.
He did this to help while he was waiting for the appointment and by the time he had the appointment arrive, his pain was better. He got the suggestion of the root canal or pulling the tooth from the dentist but he felt so much better from the oil pulling (did in the morning and the night when the pain was bad) that he kept pushing the procedure off. He did it for a few weeks and everything was healed. He had a few month lapse without oil pulling and a little pain started up so he went right back to it.
See if your dd can start this in the meantime.
