Times have changed, and (nearly) everything is available everywhere. I remember going to Israel to my relatives years ago and bringing them sour sticks, gushers, etc. All that is readily available there. The chocolate shots which used to be an Israeli thing is available here, as is chocolate eggs, doritos, and lots more. The only one thing which I have not been able to find here is the naturally dried fruit rolls/fruit leather. Yummm.

Sarona has dried fruits and fruit leathers. There's a great candy shop in Ramat Hasharon with stuff from all over but really expensive

I would say the fancy sufganiyot that are on sale now - any and every flavor and design that you can imagine - but they won't travel either

Too funny - I just asked DD (the resident candy expert) what candy/nosh she would suggest and she immediately said that the kids in the camp where she worked this past summer were always talking about this chocolate bar

if you keep chalav yisrael the chocolate eggs with toys inside are not sold in NY. I know because my husband couldn't find any there. I did find them for sale in the UK though.

Blonde chocolate bar, burnt caramel chocolate bar. It's really good comes in three flavors. I don't think you can get that in NY yet. I just brought that to friends in Brooklyn last week. I think the almond was the best.

Also I heard there are new pesek zman flavors. I don't really eat pesek zmans, but I actually heard this from someone I met on my recent trip to the US, she always asks people to bring back pesek zman and I think I've heard that other Americans (assuming you're American) really enjoy it. Then since I got back home I keep seeing ads for these new pesek zman bars. So that's worth checking out.
Just have him go to a major super market.

I've tried the Blondie bars (though not the coconut yet). They're quite good.
They also have new chunky filled milk chocolate bars called אקסטרא חלב. I tried the one with the oreo filling. It was nice.
Haven't seen the Pesek Zman but then again I wasn't really looking...
Maybe an assortment of these new chocolate bars?
