I have a light gray and navy asymmetrical sweater top that I really like. Front is diagonal alternating stripes and back is solid navy. What color skirt should I wear it with?
I tried a navy scuba but the navys didn't go well together (mostly because of the back of top; the mismatched blues looked funny).
I tried a dark gray gray stretch knit but that didn't look right either; the different grays looked off.
Perhaps a gray or navy in a completely different fabric, like suede or velour?
Denim fabric would probably work, but I can't wear that to work.
Any suggestions?

Hm. Interesting idea, that may work, I would have to try. Thanks! In theory, I like the complimentary colors. Question is, what color tights and shoes then?

Maroon skirt, black tights.
Or the exact shade gray skirt.

The top is blue and gray, so either blue or gray, depending on what color shoes you own.
