We have been trying to night train our 5 yr old son, talking to him before , taking him to bathroom before bed and then again a few hours later, before we go to sleep.
Only one night out of the last 5 has he been dry.
Is there reason to continue trying? My others were trained at this point. When do I start worrying lol?

Based on the facts provided, It doesn't seem like he's ready. I would give it another year or so and then try again.

I tried training my daughter, but I realized she was old enough to do it on her own if she was capable. Last year she stayed dry for about a week and was so excited. However, it lasted a short time and ended back in pull ups. Now she is 7 and just the other week she stopped wearing pull ups. She is nervous it won't be permanent, but we don't make a big deal of it.
My 5 year old might be ready, but I don't want to pressure him. He has other things going on, so I don't want to cause more anxiety. At the end of the day, it doesn't bother him enough.
I would love to get rid of all the night diapers, and I hate the smelly rooms. However, I know that bedwetting is genetic, and there is no point on pressuring them.
