What would a Hebrew version be for this girls name? I understood that Hindy means female deer, but I could be wrong. This name is not Hinda or Hindel but specifically Hindy.

Tzviya and Ayala mean deer, and are derived from Naftali/Tzvi just like Hindy

Hindy is a nickname, likely for Hinda but can be Hindel too. As others have said, Hebrew for Hinda is Ayala.

Thanks . R' Kanievsky is the maven in names, that's for sure.

I thought Ayala is a male Ayal - which is a ram.
And Tzvia is a male Tzvi - which is a deer - so I would say Tzvia is closer to Hindy than Ayala, since Hinda is a deer.

A ram is an Ayil. The feminine of an Ayil is a kivsah (female sheep).
A deer is an Ayal. Ayala is a female deer.
Tzvi is also a type of deer and the feminine is Tzvia.
