There's a home I pass that always has a swarm of flies hanging out in front of their bushes. What could be the cause? It's awful to walk through if I forget to anticipate it.

Standing water such as pond or puddles that result from rain on a property that's not well-graded
A certain type of grass or bush that attracts it or in general, grass that's not well-maintained

There are bushes that attract flies. When I moved across the street from my old house I was very upset to find that the new location has a terrible fly problem in front of the house, and there were constantly some making their way inside no matter how careful we were about keeping the door closed. It took a while to narrow down the reason to the bushes and tree on the two sides of the house. I plan on uprooting and replacing the bushes this spring but the tree is not mine and there is nothing I can do about it

Thank you! It's like they hang out in a cloud at just about chest height.
