Cooked soup yesterday and at 10 pm was still hot. Forgot about it later and I found it on the counter at 7 this morning.
Is it safe to eat?

whenever I cook soup the whole day and it's too warm to put away I leave it out the whole night and the next morning I put it in the fridge. It's usually still warm in the morning.

I don’t think it’s fine. Chances are no one would get sick, but I would not want to be responsible if someone did . I used to get food poisoning all the time, even though others didn’t, and I think it was often from food left out too long.

A full, covered 8 quart soup pot that's boiling hot, just of the flame, can cool for about 7 hours.
9 hours from 10-7 is pushing it, but should be ok. Just be careful leftovers don't sit out after meal.

The OP did not say she shut the flame at 10, she said it was still hot at 10. When was the flame shut off? Will that information change the minds of any of the previous responders?

Closed flame at 6 but was COVERED until 10. So at 10 it was still quite hot- it’s a 12 qt pot.
