Is there anyone here that is a PTA or a COTA that could tell me a bit about the field from an insiders perspective?
Do you enjoy your job? Would you recommend it to others?
How is the job market?
How difficult is the schooling?
Thanks so much :-)

I know that there is a demand for it. In big clinics, some hospitals, and nursing homes, there is often 1-2 PTs on staff overseeing a lot of PT/OT assistants. The PT or OT sets up a course of therapy for each patient/client and the PT assistants are often the ones doing a lot of the actual work with the patient.
I'm not sure where you would be interested in going to school for your license and course of study, but the person who I know who is almost finished with the program worked very hard over 2 years--it was a lot of anatomy, biology, a lot of studying, a lot of tests, and lots of fieldwork--in all sorts of settings.
